Settling In

Wow, how the time has flown! We are dug out from the boxes and settling into our new house and life in the midwest. Apparently it has been unseasonably warm as snow is often common in April but we have been enjoying the blooming trees and all the green. The horticulturist in me couldn't resist throwing in some shots of the landscape around us so the rest of you will just have to suffer through them even if you are disinterested. Plus I just finally got a little camera as an early birthday present to replace the one that Iris broke 2 months ago. So we'll get some more stuff up soon!

The Rouge River near our house (has a path along it):

Spring blooming trees evergreen pear in the foreground (they are everywhere) and magnolia behind (this one was quite impressive last week - already waning now):

Quarton Lake ~ 4 blocks from us where Iris likes to watch the geese & ducks (this is also where all the fancy-pants houses are):

Iris has already grown quite fond of her cousin Jack from when we stayed with them when we first got here. Here she is cracking up during a visit to our house:

Iris having a good time with her cousin Christina on Easter (pardon the diaper view):

A rare sleep during the car ride back home afterwards:

Iris smelling some type of Jasmine vine in our backyard, who's that big-bellied lady (3 months to go!)?

Iris playing at her new picnic table from Grandma Lucking:
