Miles Turns the Big ONE!

12 months come and gone. Its been a joy to get to know Miles and see how different he is from Iris. He sleeps in the car, doesn't like the bouncy chair or a binky but loves his sister, to bang things, roam independently, spin and snuggle. He is our sweet, mellow, silly boy and we love watching him explore and learn and can't wait to see even more of your personality emerge! Big hugs cutie!!

We were lucky enough to have my parents out here for Miles' birthday so we had a special birthday brunch party.

Ah, my classic block inspired birthday cake. Three levels high and still not a cube! Ughh! I had much late night input from Jeff and my dad and finally decided to frost it to look like it is only a half block tall instead of squishing the letter on the sides.

Singing happy birthday

Who doesn't love a party hat? (note Iris' expression)Trying to cut my cake which I may have tried to make taller with extra frosting - dangerous. I think Iris is concerned.

Ready for her piece:
Was red velvet cake really a good idea?Iris got an entire trunk of dress up clothes from her cousin Allison and test drove some of them outside.
That made it seem like the perfect time to open gifts. Iris did come inside just before we finished and had to check out the goods.
Wee!
Actual birthday morning. Sleepy face.

Picture of Grandpa by Iris. (He's crouching down because the first one she took was cut off above the knees)
