Pre-Halloween Chums:
Iris drew the faces on two of our pumpkins that we carved (note- her faces always have one eye markedly larger than the other and little lines for ears). We tried to stay as true to her vision as possible:
The weekend before we went into town for a halloween festival and Iris sat still to get her face painted - ah the power of lollipops! What did she pick? A ladybug of course.
We had all of the Hoffmans over for a little halloween party. It was really nice for everyone except Miles, who seemed a little overwhelmed by the whole thing.

Superman (hey, he's not crying here) and Aunt Doff:
Here's our quick change artist with Aunt Kathy bundled up on his pea-pod costume to catch up with big sis trick-or-treating. Even the fresh air didn't cheer him up.
Everyone ready to head out for trick-or-treating. Jack's paratrooper costume was the best! I was going to get a new costume for Iris this year but whenever we looked she said she wanted to be a ladybug and since it still fit who was I to argue. The cousins hung with us for a few houses and then we split up so they could do some power trick-or-treating.
Walking down the driveway we met another ladybug

We had a bumpy start as Iris was afraid of the talking head at our next door neighbor's house, but other than that she took right to it - saying trick-or-treat, loading the bag and occasionally with prodding saying thank you. The only reason she finally came home was because it got cold and her nose was running. Here's a video of a portion of it:
