Garden Success!

I've been meaning to update on the fate of our veggie seeds from last spring. Remember the sad little guys transferred to the basement under the fluorescent lights when Winter just wouldn't break? Well they are thriving with the little bed prep I did on the brief non-rainy period we had this spring. I guess having real black soil makes a difference and all those earthworms I saw don't hurt either.

These pics are all from about a month ago. Our sunflowers are now over 12 feet and feeding the birds.

The ever-elusive desert harvest item - tomatoes! Our first ones back at the beginning of August became caprese salad - Yum!

Iris dining on our itty bitty broccoli. Jeff and I hardly ever got any peas or cherry tomatoes either because she gobbled them up right off the plants.
